Taxi driver forced from car at knifepoint

A taxi driver has had his vehicle hijacked at knifepoint after picking up a fare in north Belfast.

The customer got into the car in the area of the Throne shops, on the Whitewell Road, on Monday night and was taken to Cranbrook Court in Ardoyne where he produced a knife.

The driver was forced from his car, a black Seat Exeo, at around 11.35pm.

It was later found by police a few streets away in Ardglen Place.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

These attacks are now more and more frequent. This is why people from certain areas find difficulty getting a lift home. The people who are doing this are only hurting their own neighbours.
