Police attended the scene at a scrap metal recycling plant in the Mallusk Road area shortly after 10am on Tuesday.
It is understood a digger may have damaged a gas canister which then travelled through a nearby office window and narrowly missed a young woman when it crashed into the room.
A police spokesperson said there were reports of several casualties described as "walking wounded".
One person was treated at the scene while two others were taken to the Mater Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A Northern Ireland Health & Safety Executive spokesperson said they are aware of the incident and are investigating.
