This is shocking, there is more and more seizures going on around me in Belfast. I do not agree with the way that it is being grown here. It costs landlords a fortune to redo the property and to pay off the electric that the growers were stealing. I can honnestly say that I have smoked it but i do not consider myself to be one to be getting 'high' as that doesnt work giving my medical reasons for smoking (same old excuse) If the government wised up they would use there heads and take advantage of the revenue involver in the 'industry' But I will end with simply, do not break the law. The PSNI do want to make a living too, this is costing OUR lives the little things such as the extra cash we are being forced to pay back to the economy because of these people. Just think about the TAX on the economy guys.

@Stephen. "From personal experience I know a lot will be buying it for the very simple reason it gets them high! They will also be involved other antisocial behaviour and quite often crime. This is not the harmless substance you would like us all to believe" Ok First, when people drink alcohol is it because they are thirsty? no I don't think so Stephen. And as for antisocial behaviour, well, have you never seen how masses of drunk people behave when they have been turfed out from the pubs at the weekends? Alcohol causes the antisocial behaviour NOT cannabis, How many of these people you know that buy it "to get high" , start fights, destroy property expose themselves, beat up their partners. And as far as cannabis users often involved with crime? The only crime I can think of is simply possessing the cannabis in the first place. Stephen you don't need to be so concerned my friend I can assure you that cannabis is a safe healthy substance that has been enjoyed for thousands of years. You are mistaken.

NICC - read the comments that are posted on here everytime the Police raid somewhere and seize this stuff. The vast majority of comments are slagging off the Police for doing their job. It makes no difference whether 1 company or 100 have licences to grow the strongest possible strain, the story is about criminal gangs being deprived of their cash cow. Yes, some of their customers may be buying it for whatever medical condition they have and it brings them some relief and if that is what it does I have absolutely no problem. From personal experience I know a lot will be buying it for the very simple reason it gets them high! They will also be involved other antisocial behaviour and quite often crime. This is not the harmless substance you would like us all to believe and as with everything people have a tendency to abuse it. The bottom line is some gang is out of pocket and that can only be a good thing.

It a farce that its illegal,It has anti-cancerous properties, that should give you some insight as to why its illegal...for profit! Some of the better informed members of the psni know that there are no victims of cannabis use or cultivation, its the law as it stands that causes the harm because it leaves genuine cannabis users (medical or otherwise) no choice to go to a drug dealer who might be connected to paramilitaries! The police confiscate property that causes no1 any harm and by the time they've brought the person to court it has cost US the tax payer stupid amounts of money on legal fees and jail time....absolute joke! Time to Regulate!

What have you actually acheived here??? nothing because its about 1% if even that of cannabis on the streets. You can never wipe out cannabis, you are fighting a losing battle we hear it from the police and ex policemen all the time. The only way to stop this is to take it from the criminal gangs and regulate it or atleast decriminalise it, let us grow for personal use if needed, you can make your own alcohol if you wish why not allow us to grow our own cannabis. Its been studied hundreds of times cannabis is safer that alcohol and tobacco cannabis is also used to treat cancer. In Isreal doctors are treating cancer patients with cannabis and curing them so why the hell are people in this country dieing from cancer when they can be treated with a plant, people are dying and the goverment dont care aslong as they can protect the reputation. END PROHIBITION!!!
