A man armed with a kitchen knife has held up a convenience store in north Belfast.

It happened at the store on Twaddell Avenue at around a 7:45pm on Tuesday.

The robber entered the store armed with the blade and demanded cash, before running off towards the Ardoyne shopfronts.

He is described as being about 6 feet tall, of a heavy build and was wearing a grey hooded top, white coloured trainers and had a scarf covering his face.

Police are appealing for information.
