The emergency services were called to the Oldpark Road area just before 9.30pm where the derelict property was believed to have been set alight maliciously.

As the fire was being extinguished a number of youths threw stones, and there were also reports that youths threw stones at cars passing along the road.

There were no reports of any injuries.

A spokesperson for the PSNI on Saturday said: "Police are treating the fire as malicious and would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact them at Tennent Street Police Station on the new non emergency number 101."
