Police used a stinger trap to stop the vehicle and the driver was arrested in the Falls Park area.
The man is accused of stealing the jeep at Antrim Road in Templepatrick on Saturday night.
A woman with him at the time of the theft was left behind and was subsequently arrested.
Earlier in the same area, it is alleged they also attempted to hijack a Vauxhall Astra car at around 9.30pm.
The hijackers ran off when the young female driver shouted for help.
Two others - a man and a woman - were arrested when they attempted to enter a dental practice in the Templepatrick area.
The men - aged 21 and 23 - and the women - aged 17 and 20 - were arrested in connection with the hijacking, theft of a vehicle and attempted burglary.
The 23-year-old man has been charged with hijacking, aggravated TADA (taking and driving away) and motoring offences.
The 21-year-old man has been charged with hijacking, attempted burglary and going equipped.
The 20-year-old woman has been charged with hijacking.
They will appear at the Antrim Court sitting at Coleraine Magistrates' Court on Monday morning.
The 17-year-old woman has been released pending a report to the PPS.
