A man has been charged with burglary after police in Banbridge stopped a lorry carrying stolen heavy machinery worth £75,000.

Officers stopped the vehicle carrying the Manitou telelift in the Tullymore Road area on Wednesday evening.

It was stolen from premises in the Boucher Place area of Belfast earlier that day.

A 43-year-old man was arrested and charged with burglary and using a motor vehicle without insurance.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Excellent result for the Police and Plant Machinery owner. The theft of Agricultural and Plant machinery is getting out of control. Very good proactive detection by Banbridge PSNI, the officers involved should be commended for their work. Keep it up PSNI
