Thieves have used a stolen digger to rob cash from an ATM machine on the forecourt of a filling station in Dungannon.
Police said the thieves made their getaway in a van towing a trailer once the ATM was removed from its location on the Ballygawley Road at around 2.45am on Wednesday morning.
Police said the stolen digger was abandoned at the scene.
It is the latest incident in a series of ATM robberies involving stolen diggers.
Last month, similar smash and grab incidents occurred in Warrenpoint and Carnlough.
The Northern Ireland Independent Retail Trade Association said they could force banks to call a halt to installing cash machines on the forecourt of filling stations or even removing them unless action is taken.
"It seems that there is hardly a week goes by that a small business owner is not the victim of this type of robbery," NIIRTA Chief Executive Glyn Roberts said.
"The criminals who steal these ATM machine are not just stealing from small businesses, they are stealing from the whole community who, in rural areas, rely on these machine to withdraw benefits and salaries"
NIIRTA has urged the PSNI to establish a round table with retailers, construction industry, banks and the police to ensure that measures can be put in place to tackle the issue.
Police have appealed anyone with information to come forward.
