Police received a report of a stolen Audi A4 being driven erratically in the Albert Street area, off Divis Street, shortly after 10pm on Thursday and attended the scene.

The stolen car was heading in the direction of the Millfield area, but collided with the PSNI vehicle.

Following the crash, the stolen vehicle was set alight.

Three officers inside the PSNI car received minor injuries. Their vehicle was damaged on the front and driver side panels.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

the dogs in the street no who is doing the joyriding, no harm to the psni but how they don’t catch them is unreal, they follow them around the area often enough. As a resident of the area you can’t even go to their parents as I witnessed one of the youths fathers driving recklessly through the area with his son and his mates in the car, someone could have been killed! and with that many kids in the car I’m surprised no one was hurt, it is a terrible what honest working people have to live and put up with.
