A youth entered the premises in the Drumaness Road area of Ballynahinch at around 9pm, demanding money from the till.

The robber fled the shop with two bottles of wine when another customer entered the store. No money was taken.

A police spokesperson said: "A staff member was left badly shaken but unhurt in the incident."

The thief is described as being in his mid to late teens, approximately 5ft 6in tall and of a very slim build.

He was wearing a black jacket, grey hooded top and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.

Police want anyone with any information about this incident to contact them.
