Cannabis plants with a possible street value of over £63k were seized at Iniscarn Close, Knockmore on Monday afternoon during a search carried out by the PSNI under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Cannabis cultivation equipment was also found.

Chief Inspector Darrin Jones, Lisburn Area Commander, said: "Information provided by local people can help us to identify properties were drugs activity may be taking place and carry out searches.

"It can also help us track down those involved in drugs distribution in the local area and assist in building up sufficient evidence to shut down their activities and take them off the streets," he added.

"I continue to urge local people to bring any concerns they have about drugs, drug dealing or any other issue to us."

yes happy face your just right, close down all the off license' and bars run by greedy merchants pedaling poison to the kids! i dont think cannabis causes half the car crime booze and diazapam are responsible for over your way? anyway i dont think the article mentioned anyone selling anything to children? drugs are not the problem in our society, narrow minded opinions and uneducated drivvle like yours are what stop progress on important subjects like this, this sort of prejudice against cannabis is what holds back sensible debate on how to best help people deal with drugs. the only victim here is the person who is needlessly being put through the courts, and the taxpayers who pay for the process. no offence to Darrin Jones but what do police know about helping people with drug problems apart from that arresting them keeps them in a job?
