Small bomb found in Armagh

A number of homes were evacuated overnight in Armagh after the discovery of a suspect object at a house.

It happened in the Alexander Avenue area at around 4am on Tuesday.

A local community centre was made available to residents.

Army bomb experts examined the object and declared it to be "a small viable device."

It has been removed from the scene for forensic examinations.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
