The Botanic Inn, Madisons Hotel, The Kings Head, The Northern Whig, The Elms and The Fly were bought over by the Horatio Group on Monday.

The jobs have been transferred and the bars are no longer under the control of joint administrators, John Hansen and Stuart Irwin of KPMG.

The pair were also appointed caretakers of Botanic Inns parent company Kurkova Limited.

Seven venues - The Apartment, The Kitchen Bar, McHugh's, Parador, Molly Browns, Denvirs and Ryans Bar - remain in administration.

The bars, which also employ more than 300 members of staff, are still trading and the administrators say it is "business as normal".

They added: "The joint administrators are confident of achieving a successful sale of these venues in due course and also securing the continued employment of the remaining 300 plus staff."

So surprised that one of the past owners through a new company is suddenly the savior of the cream of the crop...logistically brilliant....and all smoke and mirrors

Is this the same people buying under a different name? Could this be a dodge?

Sorry but doesnt this story stink a little of a business man using administration to avoid debt payments and write off the dead weights of his business?
