Police are investigating after a shot was fired at a home in west Belfast.

The incident, which occurred at a property in the Beechmount Parade area in the city, was reported at around 9.15pm on Thursday night.

A suspected shotgun was discharged by a masked man in the area, causing damage to the front door of the house.

The man is believed to have made off in a black car.

A man and woman, who were inside during the incident, are not believed to have been injured.

Police say enquiries are continuing and have appealed to anyone in the area at the time of the incident to contact detectives at Grosvenor Road.
