A shop worker in Londonderry has been threatened by a man armed with a knife, during a robbery in which cash was stolen.

The robber, who had his face covered, entered the shop in the Academy Road area shortly before 8.30pm on Sunday.

He threatened the member of staff, who escaped injury.

The armed robber then made off towards the Academy Road with a sum of money.

Police are investigating and anyone with information is asked to contact CID at Strand Road.
