Tates Avenue security alert ends

A number of items have been taken away for examination after a security alert in south Belfast ended.

A number of suspicious objects were reported in the Tates Avenue area on Monday shortly before 1pm and Army bomb experts were called in.

The road was closed for a time between the Boucher Road roundabout and Lorne Street.

The items have been recovered for forensic examination and Tates Avenue has fully reopened.

No homes were evacuated during the operation.
