Security alert in Killyleagh 'a hoax'

A security alert in Killyleagh, Co Down has been declared a hoax by police.

A suspicious object was discovered at Castleview on Wednesday morning after a window of a house was broken.The army bomb squad were tasked to the scene and a number of homes were evacuated.However, in the afternoon, police confirmed that the object was a hoax.Residents have since been allowed home and roads reopened.Police are appealing for anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in Castleview around 9:45am on Wednesday to contact them.Security alert in the castleview area of killyleagh co down. pic.twitter.com/n6KSSug5xt— Paul Reilly (@Paul_UTV) August 13, 2014
