A security alert at a shopping centre in Lisburn has ended after a suspect vehicle was taken away for further examination.

Army technical officers carried out a number of controlled explosions on the vehicle at the Sprucefield Shopping Centre.

They also conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area.

The shopping complex has now re-opened.

Slightly concerning that the petrol station was left open even though the rest of the retail park was cordoned off? Considering controlled explosions were carried out it- would it not have made sense to shut the petrol station too?
