Second NI arrest over container death

A second man from Northern Ireland has been arrested by police investigating the death of a man found in a shipping container in England.

The 33-year-old from Londonderry was detained after voluntarily attending a police station in Essex on Wednesday afternoon.He will be questioned on suspicion of manslaughter and facilitating illegal entry into the UK linked to the investigation into the death of a man found in a container at Tilbury Docks on Saturday.Meet Singh Kapoor, 40, was one of 35 people, including 15 children, from Afghanistan found in a container at Tilbury docks. Police said the people were victims of people trafficking.The latest arrest comes after a 34-year-old man from Limavady, Co Londonderry, was detained just after midday on Tuesday on the A1 at Banbridge, Co Down, as part of the same probe.A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "The man arrested in NI yesterday is not due to arrive in Essex Police custody until late this evening."
