A body has been found following a major search operation in the River Lagan on Friday night.

Rescue teams were dispatched following reports that a man went into the water.

It understood he was spotted in the water close to the Big Fish just after 6.30pm on Friday.

Fire Service and Ambulance Service personnel also attended while the search was ongoing.

Teams recovered a body shortly after 12.30am.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
