Dublin Coastguard is involved in the air and sea operation at Clogherhead in Co Louth and the surrounding Mourne coastal line.

The man, a foreign national in his 30s, was reported missing from the Zenith fishing boat, which is registered in the Co Down town.

It is understood the missing man was a deck hand who fell into the sea.

The alarm was raised shortly after 1pm on Sunday and the Clogherhead RNLI crew, which is coordinating the search locally, said other fishing vessels which had been in the region are helping the search.
