SDLP man 'assaulted by SF councillor'

An SDLP representative has claimed to have been assaulted by a Sinn Féin councillor in Strabane, Co Tyrone.

The PSNI say they are investigating an incident at a bar in the Abercorn Square area.

It is alleged to have happened at around 3.20am on Saturday.

The man is not believed to have been seriously injured in the incident.

A police spokesperson said: "Police received a report of an assault in the Abercorn Square area of Strabane at around 03.20 on Saturday 6th July."

when you see who people vote in to sit in Stormont and run the country why would we expect any better from local councillers? You get what you pay for and you get WHO you vote for.

Obviously these areas are a law onto themselves. Those involved would be better doing the jobs that they are (very well) paid for........rather than out boozing until all hours. Disgraceful
