A MET office yellow weather warning for ice is in place from 9pm on Saturday until Sunday morning.
Icy patches may form on untreated surfaces later, particularly after any showers as temperatures fall below zero in places.
Further wintry showers are possible in the north, whilst an area of more widespread rain, sleet and hill snow is expected to spread from the north later in the night.
On Sunday there will be more persistent rain, clearing hill snow, followed by sunny intervals and scattered showers.
