Residents evacuated in city alert

A number of homes have been evacuated by police attending the scene of a security alert in south Belfast.

A suspicious object was found in the Kitchener Street area on Thursday night.

The area has been sealed off, after army technical officers were tasked to examine the object.

Soudan Street and Donegall Road from Donegall Avenue to Nubia Street are also closed.

A local community centre has been opened for residents.

There are no further details.

more loyalist areas under attack when are the politicians going to realize peace will never happen in northern ireland the damage is already done these politicians are getting paid for absolutely nothing the decent people of the north are having there benefits cut taxes raised yet gas, electric, oil and even food is going up but still these politicians are sitting round a table talking nonsense and getting paid enough for good cars, houses and whatever else they need its simply not fair on the people who are suffering with life wise up stand together and let your opinions be heard.
