The union Unite, which is organising east Belfast event, said 8,000 workers have been made redundant in NI this year.

One of the main topics will be the 760 job losses at FG Wilsons.

Workers from the engineering firm will be in attendance.

Unite said Mr Robinson is expected to be there alongside Sinn Féin MLA Mickey Brady and Dr John Kyle of the Progressive Unionist Party.

Other topics up for debate at Westbourne Church Hall on the Newtownards Road on Tuesday evening will include the recent flooding in the city.
