Police in England are investigating the unexplained death of a man from Northern Ireland.

James Steen, aged 23, was found dead at a house in Wood Street, Rugby shortly after 6am on Saturday.

It is understood Mr Steen was a student at Newcastle University.

"His death is currently being treated as unexplained but as part of police enquiries three local men, aged 31, 29 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday morning," a spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said.

"They were interviewed over the weekend and have since been bailed until September while investigations continue."

Mr Steen's next of kin have been informed.

A statement issued from the Presbyterian Church in Ireland on Monday evening said: "We are concerned to hear of the tragic loss connected to the family of Rev Ivan Steen.

"We wish to give the family the space and privacy it needs at this difficult time and assure them of our prayerful support."
