Police are investigating a report that a shot was fired in Antrim in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The incident happened in Devon Square in the town at around 1.15am.

"No one was injured and there have been no reports of any damage to property," a PSNI spokeswoman said.

Police have appealed for information.

Anyone who was in the Devon Square area at around 1am and who may have heard or seen anything that could assist the police investigation is being asked to get in touch.

Officers can be contacted by calling the non-emergency number 101.
