Tributes are still pouring in for the 22-year-old golfer, who tweeted about being "proud to be a major champion", after his historic win at Congressional.
Philip Brady, juvenile convener at Holywood, who first spotted the young golfer nearly 10 years ago, says the club is now anxiously waiting for McIlroy's return.
"There's a lot of people here who want to say well done obviously, and I'm sure Rory wants to meet his friends and have a good party," he told UTV.
The prodigy, who clinched his maiden major title by eight shots with a 16 under par total at Congressional on Sunday, sealing an historic back-to-back victory for Northern Ireland, will be guaranteed a hero's welcome at the club where his career began.
McIlroy is the youngest winner of the title since Bobby Jones in 1923 and the youngest major winner since Tiger Woods at the Masters in 1997.
He achieved his historic win in Maryland in style, breaking record after record during the four-day tournament to become the second successive Northern Irish champion in the US after Graeme McDowell last year.
Thanks to everyone for all the messages over the past few hours. It was a very special week for me. Proud to be a major champion!

Leading from start to finish, McIlroy shot a final-round 69 on the final day to post a tournament record total of 16-under 268.
Prime Minister David Cameron said: "Congratulations to Rory McIlroy on a tremendous win at the US Open and his first major title.
"He's an incredible talent and clearly has a very exciting career ahead of him," Mr Cameron said.
In Northern Ireland MLAs have pledged to hold a special reception at Stormont to celebrate McIlroy's achievement.
Business was suspended on Monday to allow all parties to speak in praise of the young Co Down golfer.
The First and Deputy First Ministers have both congratulated McIlroy on his success.
Peter Robinson said the Holywood golfer played "some of the best golf we have ever witnessed."
"To have led from the first day of the tournament to the last shows a maturity and composure far beyond his years.
"Thanks to our golfers, Northern Ireland is making headlines throughout the world for all the right reasons, both Rory and Graeme McDowell are tremendous ambassadors for their sport and their country.
"I would encourage any golf fans to come to Northern Ireland to see for themselves why our golfers are so good," he added.
Martin McGuinness also praised the Holywood golfer, saying he never doubted Rory's ability to win a Major.
"The manner in which he has conducted himself this weekend, showing tremendous resilience and character following the disappointment of his loss at Augusta, is a tremendous example to us all.
"This win follows on from Graeme McDowell's great win last year and I am very pleased to be able to say that our local golfers are among the very best in the world," Mr McGuinness said.
Sinn Féin Culture Minister Carál Ní Chuilín has described McIlroy as "an excellent role model for golfers and sports people across these islands and indeed across the world", while DUP East Londonderry MP Gregory Campbell tabled a motion to celebrate his success at the House of Commons.
Secretary of State Owen Paterson said "his triumph, especially so early in his career, is inspirational to people across Northern Ireland and further afield."
"With Graeme McDowell's win last year we now have two consecutive US Masters victories for Northern Ireland golfers. These two outstanding achievements place Northern Ireland, proud home to so many fine golf courses, on the world stage of sporting excellence," he added.
