Strikes by postal workers will go ahead on Thursday and Friday.

The Communication Workers' Union called a news conference following its last ditch talks with Royal Mail failed.

Workers are planning walkouts on Thursday and Friday in a row over pay and modernisation plans.

Bosses say the strikes are completely unjustified.

Robinson's shoemakers in Carrickfergus manufacture and retail Irish Brogues to outside markets.

Talking to U105 John Stewart from the firm says strike action could mean they loose business.

"We are finding customers wont be convinced to buy online or that wer are going to have the issues we had during the last strike were parcels go missing or be delayed for 10 or 15 days due to a back log"

"We are either going to have to refund that or manage customer complaints" he added.

It's a total disgrace that these Postal Worker's can hold the entire Country to ransom by their greedy demands. The Powers that be should sack the lot of them and bring TNT into carry-out the work some of which they have already being doing. This issue has been going on for far too long now, enough is enough, there are thousands of people on the dole queque who would gladly fill these positions on the current scales of pay and conditions that the Postal employee's currently receive and enjoy.
