A firearm has been recovered by police in Ballymena, Co Antrim.

The weapon was found on Friday night in Crebilly Road, close to the junction of Kennelbridge Road in Ballykeel.

Army bomb experts attended the scene of the security alert, which has now ended.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw any suspicious activity to contact them.
