Police halt rape investigation

A file is being prepared for the Public Prosecution Service, after a woman claimed she was raped in Dromore, Co Down.

Detectives from the Rape Crime Unit have stopped their investigation into reports of an attack in the Mills Park area on Sunday night.
But on Monday, a PSNI spokesperson said, "A file is being prepared for the PPS in relation to false allegations made by a 22-year-old female."
