Edward Connors was jailed aged 15, after he was convicted of raping an American tourist in west Belfast four years ago.

Since his release, Connors was to appear at Belfast Crown Court on Monday for breaching the terms of his probation.

But the 19-year-old, who previously described himself as a "monster" did not appear and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

A lawyer for the prosecution lawyer Simon Reid told the judge that it was believed Connors was now "in a different jurisdiction".

Connors is described as being 5'5" tall, of thin build with short brown hair which is curly on top, green eyes and slightly tanned skin.

When last seen he was wearing a light blue shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

The PSNI has asked for anyone who may know of Connors whereabouts to contact them, and have also appealed for Connors to hand himself in at the nearest police station.
