Police confirmed that the plane had to make an "emergency landing" on Thursday afternoon.

It ended up nose-first in a hedge at the playing fields in the Dairy Hall area.

According to the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, there were two people on board - the pilot and one passenger. They are not thought to have sustained serious injuries.

A spokesperson on Twitter said that both "walked from the plane and are being assessed".

The weather wasn't that bad in ards today. I fail to see why anyone would entrust their lives, and others, to these Mickey Mouse, oversized toy planes.

Glad to hear both pilot and passenger are ok
