Pharmacist injured in pepper spray attack

A pharmacist has been sprayed in the face in a Strabane chemist shop by a man armed with a pepper spray during a robbery.

It happened at Beechmount Avenue on Saturday at 5.35pm.The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to his injuries.It is not known at this stage if anything was taken during the incident.SDLP Strabane councillor Patsy Kelly condemned the robbery.He said: "I was appalled to hear this had happened. It must have been a frightening ordeal for the staff involved."This is not just an attack on a local facility, but it is also an attack on the Strabane community, and I would urge anyone with information to contact police immediately." Police are appealing for anyone with information on the attack to come forward.
