Pensioner injured in Ballyclare burglary

A pensioner has been taken to hospital after he was attacked in his Ballyclare home by three men.

It was reported that the men, two of whom were armed with sticks, forced their way into the house in the Ballyrobert Road area and assaulted the occupant shortly before 6.25pm on Tuesday.

The man, in his 70s, required hospital treatment for his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

The three suspects are described as being in their late teens or early 20s.

They are believed to have made off in the general direction of Corrs Corner.
