A pensioner has had her north Belfast home ransacked by a gang of men.

The trio entered through the back door of the house in Mount Vernon Park on Thursday at around 8.45pm.

The woman, who is in her 70s, was ordered to sit down while the men searched the house, before making off with a sum of money.

The woman was not injured during the break-in.

Police are appealing for anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
