A pedestrian is in a serious condition in hospital after being knocked down by a car in Lisburn.

The crash happened in the Moira Road area just after 5:50pm on Tuesday evening.

It was reported that a car and a pedestrian were involved.

A section of the Moira Road where Main Street Glenavy meets Moira Road has been closed and traffic is being diverted through the town of Glenavy.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative main routes for their journey.
