The alarm was raised on Thursday at lunchtime.
Two fire crews attended and quickly put the fire out, a spokeswoman for the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust said.
"Patients have had to be moved out of the X Ray department, while safety and fire officers carry out an investigation," she said.
"No other patients have had to be evacuated and scanning procedures have not been affected."
Any urgent X rays will be carried out in the Emergency Department, she continued.
