Around 100 delivery offices with the highest parcels volumes across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will have their opening hours extended to seven days a week.

Belfast South & Central Delivery Office in Tomb Street and Londonderry Delivery Office in Great James Street, will open between 12pm and 4pm from this Sunday.

The initiative is designed to make it easier for online shoppers not at home during the day to get their parcels.

It's part of an on-going programme by Royal Mail to cope with demand from online shopping.

Michael Kennedy, Royal Mail Director of Operations Northern Ireland, explained: "We are continuing to be more customer responsive and provide more options for people to receive items they have ordered online.

"I am delighted to pilot Sunday afternoon opening at around 100 of our delivery offices across the UK with the highest parcel volumes, including Belfast South & Central and Londonderry."
