Police have described a bomb alert on the route of the Whiterock Orange Order parade in west Belfast as an 'elaborate hoax'.

Army bomb experts examined a number of suspicious objects on the Springfield Road at around 2pm on Saturday, as the Whiterock Orange Order parade was due to proceed along Workman's Avenue.

A call had been made earlier claiming that devices had been left in the area of West Circular Road and Workman's Avenue.

The controversial parade was delayed for a time but eventually passed off peacefully, although a number of missiles were thrown at marchers.

Here we go again another year and still the same old nonsense, we want to march where ever we want to it's our right or you can't march in our area because we don't want you there we have a right to be free from sectarian hatred. My solution is to ban all contentious marches flags and bunting for the next 10 years regardless from which side.Might be a bit drastic but look at the Drumcree situation, it's all but been forgotten.
