The far-right organisation is whites only and its policies have been described as neo-fascist.

It is alleged the leaflets, which label the white race as "Britain's most endangered species", were being given out in the Tates Avenue area in the south of the city.

The men, aged 33 and 49, have been arrested on suspicion of the distribution of written material with intent to incite hatred.

South Belfast MLA Conall McDevitt said people in the area had passed the leaflets on to police.

"This sends out a very clear message that this is a community made up of a proud, tolerant and diverse range of people who will not accept discrimination in any form," he said.

"Leaflets with this offensive and overtly racist tone have no place in the streets of South Belfast. I commend the community for standing up against those responsible for such unacceptable material."

Don`t agree with BNP policies, but they are a legitimate party so I can`t see why the 2 persons were arrested.@Ryan in Belfast you seem to have Neo Nazi tendancies yourself,as you are on these threads constantly demonising anything and anyone British!

Im not surprised to see, no doubt Loyalists, supporting and defending these men from the National Front. They defend the National Front, whose members have a long history of being involved in Nazi related politics and yet, these SAME loyalists sometimes parade and celebrate WW2, a fight AGAINST nazism. You could not make this stuff up, you really cant lol Loyalists really are confused, in my opinion lol

So tolerant and diverse. Unless you hold a different view to themselves...

Wow. Statistically, the leaflets comment is not a million miles from the truth. Conall McDevitt This sends out a very clear message that this is a community made up of a proud, tolerant and diverse range of people who will not accept discrimination in any form," he said ". Oh really ? short memory Mr McDevitt. Seems highlighting a REAL & STATISTICALLY PROVEN fact is inciting hatred now. better tell the protestants & Catholics that their beliefs are inciting hatred towards EACH OTHER & everyone else. Such a knee jerk reaction from the PC BRIGADE.

I certainly hope those two guys don't apologize. An apology would admit to wrong-doing. Say what you mean, mean what you say, and don't apologize for it. Speaking your mind should not be a crime in any country.
