Pair charged over £500k cannabis seizure

Two people have been charged with drugs offences following the seizure of cannabis plants worth an estimated £500,000 in Greyabbey, Co Down.

Detectives from the PSN'Is Organised Crime Branch recovered the Class B drugs following a planned search of a property in the Main Street area on Friday afternoon.
The building is understood to be a Chinese restaurant.
A 46-year-old man and a 24-year-woman, who were arrested by police, are accused of cultivating cannabis, possessing cannabis and possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
They will appear at a Special Court in Newtownards on Monday.
All charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
