Ru Ming Lin, 37, and Thuy Nguyen, 39, were arrested after police discovered the drugs at a property in east Belfast on Monday.

Both of them face charges of conspiracy to supply cannabis and possession with intent to supply.

Lin, a Chinese man, and Nguyen, a Vietnamese national, are further jointly accused of converting criminal property, namely cash to the value of £29,535.

The alleged offences were committed between last September and their detention this week.

Appearing in the dock together at Belfast Magistrates' Court, the pair nodded to confirm they understood the charges detailed to them through interpreters.

A detective constable said she could connect both defendants with the alleged offences.

No further details of the cannabis seizure were disclosed during the hearing.

Neither Lin, of Oak Way, Belfast, nor Nguyen, from Orient Gardens in the city, applied for bail.

The pair were remanded in custody to appear again by video link on 27 March.
