A sex offender from Scotland who broke his bail conditions could be in Northern Ireland, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre has said.

Fraser Benjamin McLaughlin was last seen on a ferry en route to Northern Ireland three months ago.

The 57-year-old from Hamilton in Scotland has strong links with the region.

He has broken Sexual Offenders Register conditions and failed to answer bail over charges linked to child abuse images.

He is described as being about 6ft tall with greying red hair and a small moustache. He may also wear glasses.

When he was last seen, he was wearing a cloth cap, a red and blue jacket and a white sweater.

It is also understood he is diabetic and sufferers with a heart condition.

Chief Executive of CEOP, Jim Gamble, said: "Fraser McLaughlin is the 21st high risk missing convicted child sexual offender that has been placed on CEOP's Most Wanted site and should today be a worried man."

Detective Inspector David Tassie of Strathclyde Police said: "Strathclyde Police has been working closely with partners in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland to trace Fraser McLaughlin.

"I would appeal to anyone with information to contact police."

I commend our lovely little police service for their appeal for people with information to step foward, they're 'simply the best'. How lucky are we?
