The crew was responding to an emergency when the PSNI vehicle they were travelling in crashed on Creggan Road at 3am on Sunday.

They were treated in hospital for their injuries and released later that morning.

Police enquiries are ongoing and they are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A PSNI statement said: "Police would also like to thank local residents who left their homes to offer assistance to the officers."
