The trouble flared on Wednesday night, when three prisoners who had been using the pay phones refused to return to their cells.

The officer who was knocked out hit his head on a pillar, while another officer sustained cuts behind his ear.

An internal investigation has been launched into the incident.

Violent , worthless , un-fit for society , zero morales , disrespectful , nasty .... these are the people we expect our prison staff to work with on a daily basis, on OUR behalf . I would sincerely hope that the prisoners who assaulted those staff are dealt with very harshly .... no less than 4 more years added on to their sentence.

the more you give to these prisoners the more they expect, they should be made to earn privileges i/e remission, use of the phone, and home leave, all of these they get automatically, no incentive to be of good behaviour, lets not forget these people are criminals, i wonder how their victims feel about the way they are treated?disgusted springs to mind.
