The item was found in the Doagh Road area on Monday evening.

The bomb squad declared the object to be an elaborate hoax and the road has reopened to traffic.

Meanwhile the Belfast to Dublin train line closed at 7.45pm because of a security alert in Lurgan.

Nothing untoward was found and the line reoopened two hours later.
