He was detained in Larne on Saturday under the Terrorism Act in connection with the events on Sunday 30 March.

The man, who is the ninth person to be arrested in connection with the trouble, has been taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

The PSNI blamed the attacks on the south-east Antrim UDA.

Crowds of up to 100 people were involved in disorder that started at around 8.40pm in the Knockdhu Park and Ferris Avenue areas of the Co Antrim town.

They smashed the homes of two families and also damaged cars. A man was taken to hospital after he was assaulted by the gang.

Police reported that they were also attacked at the scene and one officer required hospital treatment to a head injury.

To date, one man has been charged in connection with the disorder.

These uneducated thugs are not loyalists as they respect no-one and remain unloyal to the crown. Lock all of these thugs up and throw away the key!
