Fire and rescue service received a report of a fire at the Thompson animal feed plant on the York Road shortly after 3am on Tuesday.

The accidental fire started on the third floor due to machinery fault and spread via ducting in the building.

Fire and rescue crews from across the city, including one from Lisburn, attended to tackle the blaze.

NIFRS said that firefighters worked in challenging conditions to bring the fire under control.

A fire engine currently remains at the scene as a safety precaution.
