Newry crash victim, 78, named

The 78-year-old woman killed in a two-vehicle crash in Newry on Thursday afternoon has been named by police.

Phyllis Mackey, originally from Newry, died in the incident in the Warrenpoint Road area.

Three other people - two men and a woman - were also involved in the collision between a silver Renault Clio and a red Ford Focus.

They were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers investigating this crash are continuing to appeal for and can be contacted at the Collision Investigation Unit by calling the non-emergency number 101.
